Expiry Countdown Widget

A live countdown to the next Nifty (Tuesday), monthly (last Tuesday) and Sensex (Thursday) expiry, in days, hours, minutes and seconds.

Quick answer: This widget shows a live countdown to the next weekly Nifty expiry (Tuesday), the next monthly expiry (last Tuesday) and the next Sensex expiry (Thursday), based on the current exchange conventions.

Countdowns assume the current expiry convention (Nifty/NSE → Tuesday, Sensex/BSE → Thursday) and the 3:30 PM IST close. They do not adjust for exchange holidays — verify on NSE/BSE.

How to use it

The countdown updates every second to the next expiry close (3:30 PM IST) for each contract type. It is computed entirely in your browser from your device clock; no data is sent anywhere.

Frequently asked questions

What does the expiry countdown show?
The time remaining until the next Nifty weekly expiry (Tuesday), the next monthly expiry (last Tuesday) and the next Sensex expiry (Thursday), down to the second, at the 3:30 PM close.
Is the countdown adjusted for holidays?
No. It assumes the standard expiry weekday. When an expiry weekday is a trading holiday, the exchange moves expiry to the previous trading day, so verify holiday weeks on the exchange calendar.
What time do options expire?
Trading runs until the 3:30 PM IST close on expiry day; the countdown targets that close, after which settlement is computed from the last 30 minutes.
Does the countdown use my local time?
It targets 3:30 PM India time (IST) and displays the remaining time based on your device clock, so ensure your clock is accurate.
